Nothing more comforting and delicious than an Italian style hot chocolate on a cold snowy day.
If you've been to Italy, then you know what I'm talking about. This hot chocolate is more like ganache; it's a drinkable dessert. Rich, thick, and pure magic. I created this recipe just so that I could add @_favuzzi 's amazing Sicilan hazelnut cream to it, and it did not disappoint! I cannot describe how delicious and decadent this chocolate is. You might need to thin it out if you're not used to thick hot chocolate, but I assure you, you're in for a huge treat!
RECIPE FOR 4-5 small cups
-450ml whole milk
-50ml heavy cream
-1 tbs corn startch
-40 gr of the best cacao you can find
-25g sugar
-125g dark chocolate (min.70%)
-2 tbsp Favuzzi's Sicilian hazelnut
cream
-1tsp vanilla
-1/2 tsp salt
METHOD
Add cocoa, corn starch, salt and half the milk in a small pot and stir until well combined. Place on low heat and keep stirring until hot, while slowly adding rest of milk and cream. Once hot, turn heat off, add chocolate and hazelnut cream and stir until chocolate is melted and everything is well combined. Enjoy!
